The process for handling cases requiring corrections, retractions, and editorial expressions of concern

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. Post-publication discussion may start with a reader’s critique of an article or any part of it that the journal has published. When a formal critique is received, the journal may invite the original authors of the critiqued article to write a reply. The critique and response may be peer reviewed.
